Treatment Planning System

The ADAC Pinnacle Treatment Planning system is among the most sophisticated planning systems available, with capabilities to create 3D conformal and intensity modulated radiation therapy (IMRT) plans. The treatment-planning system is central to the design of radiation therapy. Using information gathered from MRI, CT and x-ray images, the treatment-planning system creates 3D models of the tumor and anatomy. Decisions about the number, energy, targeting, placement, and shape of radiation beams can be developed in a virtual-reality environment, with different techniques compared. A Dosimetrist prepares a treatment plan and calculates the doses that meet the requirements of your physician’s prescription.
