When your physician refers you to Turville Bay you’ll be in the care of a team of specialists. We’re the community’s healthcare technology provider. At our initial appointment with you we’ll determine whether or not radiation therapy is an option for your situation. At your appointment, you’ll meet one of our Radiation Oncologists, a physician that specializes in radiation therapy treatment. Read Dr. Richardson’s blog post about prostate cancer.
During that consultation we will:
- get a complete medical history.
- review test results and any imaging you have had.
- explore your diagnosis.
- consider the benefits of radiation therapy in your treatment.
- discuss the need for support such as Gilda's Club of Madison.
If it is decided that radiation therapy will be part of your treatment, we’ll schedule a second appointment for treatment planning with our team. We’ll determine the length of treatment, the technology that’s right for you, and your treatment schedule. At that time we’ll link you to Turville Bay’s Patient Portal so you can access medical information pertaining to your treatment and contact your healthcare team with questions or concerns.
“Prostate Cancer is part of aging for nearly every man. It may be a harmless tumor that grows so slowly most men don’t know it’s there, or a more aggressive tumor. Because no two men are alike, Turville Bay offers a full range of treatment options for prostate cancer.”
